In the year 1647 Paulus Potter created this artpiece The Bull. The more than 370 years old original version measures the size: height: 235,5 cm width: 339 cm | height: 92,7 in width: 133,5 in. Oil on canvas was used by the Dutch artist as the technique for the artpiece. The original artwork was inscribed with the information: "signed and dated: Paulus. Potter. / f. 1647.". Moveover, this work of art is in the the Mauritshuis's collection, which the Mauritshuis is home to the best artworks of Dutch painting of the seventeenth century. This artwork, which belongs to the public domain is provided, courtesy of Mauritshuis, The Hague. The creditline of the artpiece is: Willem Fabricius d’Almkerk, Haarlem, 1749; Prince William IV, The Hague, 1749; Prince William V, The Hague, until 1795; confiscated by the French, transferred to the Muséum Central des Arts/Musée Napoléon (Musée du Louvre), Paris, 1795-1815; Royal Picture Gallery, housed in the Prince William V Gallery, The Hague, 1816; transferred to the Mauritshuis, 1822. What is more, the alignment of the digital reproduction is in landscape format with a ratio of 1.4 : 1, which means that the length is 40% longer than the width. The poet, painter Paulus Potter was a European artist, whose art style can be classified as Baroque. The European painter was born in 1625 in Enkhuizen, North Holland, Netherlands and passed away at the age of 29 in 1654.
