In 1883 Georges Seurat made this work of art. The beyond 130 year-old original version had the following size of 31,2 x 24 cm (12 5/16 x 9 7/16 in) framed: 54,61 x 46,36 x 2,22 cm (21 1/2 x 18 1/4 x 7/8 in) and was painted with the medium conté crayon on michallet paper. What is more, this artpiece forms part of the Yale University Art Gallery's digital collection, which belongs to Yale University and is the oldest art museum of a university in the western hemisphere. What is more, the alignment is portrait with an image ratio of 3 : 4, which implies that the length is 25% shorter than the width. Georges Seurat was a painter, drawer, whose style was primarily Pointillism. The European artist was born in 1859 in Paris, Ile-de-France, France and passed away at the age of 32 in 1891.
