The 19th century piece of art Three sailboats and a seagull was created by the expressionist master Leo Gestel in the year 1891. Nowadays, the artwork is in the the digital art collection of Rijksmuseum, which is the largest museum for Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages to the present day. What is more, the alignment of the digital reproduction is landscape and has an aspect ratio of 1.4 : 1, which means that the length is 40% longer than the width. The painter, graphic artist Leo Gestel was an artist from the Netherlands, whose art style can mainly be assigned to Expressionism. The artist was born in 1881 in Woerden, South Holland, Netherlands and passed away at the age of 60 in the year 1941.
