The over 180 year-old artpiece Dorpsgezicht at night was created by the artist Jules Dupré in 1840. Nowadays, this artwork can be viewed in in the Rijksmuseum's digital art collection, which is the largest museum for Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages to the present day. What is more, the alignment of the digital reproduction is portrait with a ratio of 1 : 1.2, which implies that the length is 20% shorter than the width. Jules Dupré was a painter, whose art style was mainly Realism. The French painter lived for 78 years and was born in 1811 and died in 1889 in L'Isle-Adam, Seine-et-Oise.
