St. Stephen's Cathedral was one of the favorite subjects of Rudolf von Alt, he has shown him by his own account over a hundred times. Signed and dated lower center: Rudolph Alt 1832; including presumably by someone else: Rudolf Alt / 1832 is the painting's inscription.
