The 19th century painting with the title The recovery of the body Jean-Paul Marat was painted by Hans Canon. The 140 year-old version of the piece of art measures the size: 58 x 71,5 cm - frame dimensions: 97 x 113 x 13 cm. Oil on canvas was used by the painter as the medium of the masterpiece. Furthermore, this work of art is included in the digital art collection of Belvedere located in Vienna, Austria. With courtesy of: © Belvedere, Vienna, inventory number: 3285 (licensed: public domain). : purchase from the Dorotheum, Vienna in 1934. Besides, the alignment is in landscape format with an aspect ratio of 4 : 3, which implies that the length is 33% longer than the width. Hans Canon was a artist from Germany, whose artistic style was mainly Historicism. The painter lived for a total of 56 years and was born in the year 1829 in Vienna and deceased in the year 1885 in Vienna.
