This work of art was created by the artist Meester van Badia a Isola in the year 1300. Furthermore, the piece of art is included in the Rijksmuseum's collection, which is the largest museum for Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages to the present day. Please keep in mind, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin of something between 2-6 cm around the print motif in order to facilitate the framing.

The style of the Master of Badia a Isola is closely related to that of Duccio, the founder of the Sienese school of painting. This Virgin is a variation on a prototype by Duccio. Although the bottom of the panel has been cut off, it is still an excellent example of the refined linear style that Duccio passed on to his followers in Siena.
