The portrait looks back an old handwritten note: "Marie Victoire Talon 22 year old lady of the palace of the Comtesse d'Artois, wife of the Marquis of Ste Croix, Ambassador, gentleman of the Bishop handle the Duke of Angoulême ". This listing can not match the pattern due to a mismatch of dates: Nattier died in 1766 and the Duke of Angoulême was born in 1775. This annotation is surely the result of confusion made by an heir to the nineteenth century .This table is actually an exact replica of the face of the "Portrait of Marie-Geneviève Boudrey in the guise of a Muse" (London, private collection), painted by Nattier in 1752 and exhibited at the 1753 Salon (Permit No. 48 ) where he was particularly praised by critics.

For Teresa Burollet, the allocation of the fabric of the Cognac-Jay Museum Nattier seems to be preserved (see Burollet, Therese, 2004 p.225).

The material options

In the product dropdown menu you can pick your favorite size and material. You can select your preferred size and material among the following choices:

  • Aluminium dibond print (metal): These are metal prints on aluminium dibond with a true effect of depth. The bright & white parts of the original artpiece shimmer with a silk gloss, however without glow. The colors are luminous, the fine details appear crisp and clear.
  • Canvas: The canvas print, which should not be mistaken with a painting on a canvas, is a digital image printed from a UV direct printing machine. The canvas print produces a attractive and positive atmosphere. The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight. That means, it is easy to hang your Canvas print without extra wall-mounts. That is why, canvas prints are suited for all kinds of walls.
  • Print on acrylic glass (with real glass coating on top): A glossy acrylic glass print, which is often described as a an art print on plexiglass, transforms your favorite artwork into beautiful home decoration and makes a viable alternative option to aluminium and canvas fine art prints. The work of art is being custom-made with the help of modern UV print machines. It makes deep and vivid color shades.
  • Poster (canvas material): Our poster is a printed cotton canvas paper with a fine structure on the surface. The printed poster is appropriate for putting the art copy with the help of a customized frame. Please bear in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster print we add a white margin of approximately 2 - 6cm round about the artwork to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.
