Eduard Bendemann (1811-1889), son of the renowned Berlin Jewish banker Anton Heinrich Bendemann, decided in 1826 for painting and studied with Wilhelm Schadow, whom he followed to the Academy in Dusseldorf in the summer 1827th First he worked as a portraitist and history painter. His first major work, "The mourning Jews" (Cologne, Wallraf-Richartz Museum) was 1831/32. His fame was strengthened by a 1835 created and since 1837 several times painting on display entitled "Jeremiah on the ruins of Jerusalem" (destroyed). 1838 he was appointed Bendemann to the Academy of Dresden, where his sculptures until the 1850s the throne, concert hall and ballroom of the Dresden castle with large-scale mythological and historical scenes (destroyed in 1945). From 1859 to 1867 he was director of the Dusseldorf Academy.

Further, the alignment is portrait with a side ratio of 1 : 1.2, meaning that the length is 20% shorter than the width. Friedrich von Amerling was a male painter of Austrian nationality, whose style was mainly Biedermeier. The Biedermeier artist lived for 84 years - born in 1803 in Vienna, Vienna state, Austria and deceased in 1887.
