In 1600 Ecole crétoise made the 17th century masterpiece. The original was painted with the size: Height: 30,5 cm, Width: 39,5 cm and was manufactured with the medium Tempera, Gold, Wood (material). The original masterpiece has the following inscription: Registration - At the top of each side of the cross: "o epitaphios (o) threnos". The artwork is included in the Petit Palais - Musée des Beaux-arts de la Ville de Paris's digital collection, which is an art museum in the 8th arrondissement. At the foot of the cross, is lying on a stone the body of Christ, surrounded by his friends and the saddened faces softened Jean, bent over the body, Joseph of Arimathea, hands on the shroud, Nicodemus leaning against a ladder, Mary Magdalene who raises his arms to heaven. Mary wraps his arm the face of Christ.
