Available material options

For every product we offer different sizes & materials. In order match your personal requirements perfectly, you can choose among the following product customization options:

  • The poster print (canvas material): Our poster is a printed sheet of cotton canvas paper with a slight surface texture, that resembles the original masterpiece. It is qualified for placing your art copy in a custom frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of around 2 - 6cm around the print, which facilitates the framing with a custom frame.
  • Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): A glossy print on acrylic glass, often described as a plexiglass print, transforms your favorite original work of art into wonderful home decoration and forms a great alternative option to aluminium and canvas fine art prints. The artwork is being printed with the help of state-of-the-art UV direct printing technology. This creates sharp and vivid colors. The plexiglass protects your custom art replica against sunlight and heat for many years to come.
  • Canvas print: The canvas direct print is a printed canvas stretched on a wood stretcher. A canvas print of your favorite artpiece will let you turn your new fine art print into a large size artwork as you would see in a gallery. A canvas print has the advantage of being relatively low in weight, which means that it is easy to hang the Canvas print without extra wall-mounts. Hence, a canvas print is suited for any kind of wall.
  • Aluminium dibond print: These are metal prints on alu dibond with an impressive effect of depth, creating a fashionable look by having a non-reflective surface structure. For your Aluminium Dibond print, we print your artwork onto the aluminium surface.

Important legal note: We try everythig possible to describe our products as precisely as possible and to display them visually. However, the colors of the print products and the print result can vary somehwat from the image on your screen. Among all the Skagen painters, P.S. Krøyer was the most brilliant and also the most celebrated in his own day. He would make any composition work as perfectly as could be using only a few simple devices.

Here he creates a diagonal movement from the boys in the foreground to the ships by the horizon. The ships – and our gaze – moves to the right, meeting the white moonbeam that takes us back to the boy and the beach of Skagen.

In this simple, yet grandiose composition Krøyer reinforced his narrative of the light summer nights of Skagen. A narrative that effortlessly slides into its slot among the many paintings of the period that address the relationship between man, the sea, and light. A theme that was of particular interest to devotees of vitalism within literature and art.

Krøyer submitted the painting for the World Exhibition held in Paris in 1900. Painted on the threshold of a new century, the children and young people represent renewal and confidence in the future. To Krøyer, whose own life was clouded by long episodes of deep depression, the alldominating, liquid and dreamy blue is not the colour of melancholy, but the blue colour of hope.
