Basically, the houses of the Rue Saint Denis and left, those from the street to Irons (current Berger Street).
Occupying the site of the old cemetery of the Innocents, decommissioned in 1785, the market for fruits and vegetables, built between 1786 and 1789, surrounded the fountain erected in 1550 by Jean Goujon, in the corner of the Irons and Saint- Denis moved and transformed for the occasion. The fountain was again to be changed under the Second Empire.
