This icon represents Elijah sitting in his cave, in a desert landscape, head turned to the crows coming to bring him food. The cave and crows are the attributes of Elijah (see table PIP). Above and below the image, two sets of three icons tell the story of Elijah: Top: Elijah and the Widow of Serepta Elijah revived the child of the widow and the sacrifice at Mount Carmel.En low: God's angel pulls sleep Elijah discouragement and dining offers him; the sharing of the waters of Jordan with Elisha, disciple and prophet; ascension of Elijah in a chariot, throwing his mantle to Elisha.
