In a boat, two young women accompany their children undressed for swimming. The dresses of the two women dressed in designer Paquin models are pretexts for a set of complementary colors, yellow and purple. The painter selected framing japonisant without horizon. The boat is completely surrounded by water in which is reflected the foliage with green-blue hues.
The scene could be observed on the pond Castle Beaufresne where Mary Cassatt spent the last years of his life.
