The youthful portrait of Adèle Foucher can be dated from 1820 date of his engagement to Victor Hugo. It is awarded to Julie Duvidal Montferrier, student of Baron Gerard, with whom Adèle Foucher took drawing classes. The workshop was near the War Council Hall where the Foucher family lived.
