The over 130 year old artwork was painted by the male Austrian artist Josef Straka in 1888. The artpiece was made with the size 96,5 × 145 cm - frame: 111 × 158,5 × 6 cm. Oil on canvas was applied by the European painter as the medium of the artpiece. The masterpiece has the following text as inscrption: signed, name and dated lower right: Jos. Straka Vienna in 1888; Name on the back of the stretcher: Hagar and Ishmael. The work of art can be viewed in in the Belvedere's collection, which is one of Europe's most famous museums with three locations that blends the experience of architecture and art in a unique way. The painter, watercolourist Josef Straka was a European artist from Austria, whose style can mainly be assigned to Historicism. The artist was born in the year 1864 in Zdarek, Stredocesky, Czech Republic and passed away at the age of 82 in the year 1946.
