The decoration design has the "Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare on the subject and refers to the north wall of the bedroom of Empress Elisabeth (1837-1898) at the Hermes Villa in Lainz Vienna. Right is a piece of canvas with the representation of a candelabrum added. The hunting and summer villa was built by architect Carl Hasenauer (1833-1886) from 1882 to 1886. Makart presented in the midfield of the draft, the lovers Hermia and Lysander and Helena and Demetrius. In order to finish by himself there was no more, it was more of its students and staff reserved, as Eduard Charlmont (1842-1906), Julius Viktor Berger (1850 -1902), the decorative painter Pietro Isella (1827 to 1887) and Carl Rudolf Huber (1839 to 1896). The latter held on to the north face largely the draft Makart, but replaced the pair in the center of the composition by Titania and Oberon - probably at the request of the Empress. [See.
