cut a man's head, mouth open, exposed on a sheet
The signing of Carpeaux having been added after the completion of the painting, it is not clear what is the author. The table is considered since 1938 as a copy of Géricault Carpeaux. Recent reviews of the work question this assignment, but can not be considered a study of the hand of Géricault. The version considered original is in the Museum of Stockholm. The picture of the Petit Palais gives details of the head to the right. Carpeaux admired the work of the Romantic painter and in particular Raft of the Medusa (1819, Louvre), some details have been prepared by anatomical studies of fragments of corpses.

Select your favorite material
The product dropdown menu provides you with the opportunity to choose the material and sizeaccording to your preferences. The following sizes and materials are the options we offer you for individualization:
- Canvas: The UV printed canvas material applied on a wooden stretcher frame. It creates the particular impression of three dimensionality. The advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is easy to hang your Canvas print without any wall-mounts. Because of thatcanvas prints are suited for any kind of wall.
- Aluminium dibond print: Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with an outstanding effect of depth - for a modern impression and a non-reflective surface structure. The bright parts of the original artwork shimmer with a silk gloss but without the glare.
- Acrylic glass print: A glossy print on acrylic glass, which is sometimes named as a print on plexiglass, makes your original into amazing décor. Beyond that, the acrylic glass print makes a distinct alternative option to dibond or canvas fine art prints. The artwork is being printed with modern UV direct printing technology. It makes impressive and rich color hues. With an acrylic glass fine art print contrasts and artwork details will be identifiable with the help of the delicate tonal gradation of the picture.
- Poster print (canvas material): The Artprinta poster print is a printed sheet of canvas with a fine surface finish, that reminds the original version of the artwork. A poster is optimally appropriate for framing the art copy with the help of a special frame. Please bear in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin of around 2-6cm round about the print motif in order to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
