Additional information by the museum (© - The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)

Painted with the characteristically bold brushwork that Hals had learned fxrom Flemish painting, this picture provides a gleefully nonjudgmental depiction of a young couple carousing in the doorway of an inn or brothel. Flushed cheeks and open-mouthed grins indicate that the pair has broken with contemporary rules of comportment. Yet even the humble interior in which they find themselves boasts a landscape painting above the mantelpiece.

Pick a item material option

We offer a range of different sizes and materials for every product. The following sizes and materials are the options we offer you for individualization:

  • Canvas print: A canvas print, which should not be mistaken with an artwork painted on a canvas, is a digital image printed from a UV direct printer. Besides, canvas makes a cosy and enjoyable effect. Canvas Prints have the advantage of being low in weight. That means, it is quite simple to hang your Canvas print without any wall-mounts. Therefore, a canvas print is suitable for all types of walls.
  • Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): An print on acrylic glass, which is sometimes referred to as a plexiglass print, will convert your favorite original artwork into beautiful home decoration. The artwork will be made with the help of modern UV print machines. It makes sharp, intense colors. The acrylic glass protects your chosen art print against light and heat for several decades.
  • Aluminium dibond print: Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with an outstanding depth effect. For your Direct Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print your chosen work of art onto the aluminium surface. The bright & white sections of the original work of art shine with a silk gloss, however without the glow.
  • Poster print (canvas material): The Artprinta poster is a printed flat canvas with a fine surface structure, which resembles the actual version of the artwork. The poster is particularly suited for putting your art copy using a special frame. Please note, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin between 2-6 cm around the print to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.

Disclaimer: We do what we can to describe our art products with as many details as possible and to illustrate them visually in our shop. Nonetheless, the tone of the printing material, as well as the print result may diverge slightly from the presentation on your monitor. Depending on the screen settings and the nature of the surface, not all color pigments can be printed one hundret percent realistically. Considering that the art reproductions are printed and processed by hand, there may as well be minor discrepancies in the motif's exact position and the size.
