General information from The Metropolitan Museum of Art (© Copyright - by The Metropolitan Museum of Art - www.metmuseum.org)
A native of Newport, Rhode Island, and Stuart’s first cousin, Joseph Anthony was trained as a silversmith and jeweler, his family business. Anthony moved to Philadelphia about 1783 where his trade thrived, and he married Henrietta Hillegas of that city shortly thereafter. This picture, painted in Stuart’s best English manner, fully captures the confident mood of this substantial craftsman, whose ruddy good looks and careful dress suggest success and happiness.

Pick your product material variant
In the product dropdown selection you can select a material and a sizeaccording to your individual preferences. We allow you to pick your favorite size and material among the following product individualization options:
- Aluminium dibond print: An Aluminium Dibond print is a print material with an outstanding depth effect. For our Direct Aluminium Dibond print, we print your artwork on the surface of the aluminum material.
- The acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): An acrylic glass print, which is sometimes named as a print on plexiglass, will turn your favorite original into stunning décor. With an acrylic glass art print contrasts and minor details become visible thanks to the granular tonal gradation in the print.
- Canvas print: The canvas print is a printed cotton canvas stretched on a wooden stretcher. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is easy to hang the Canvas print without any wall-mounts. A canvas print is suitable for any type of wall.
- Poster print on canvas material: The Artprinta poster is a printed sheet of flat cotton canvas paper with a fine surface finish. Please keep in mind, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin between 2 - 6cm around the work of art, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
