This 17th century artwork Portrait of a Man was created by Nicolaes Maes in 1660. The over 360 year-old original has the size - 30,5 x 26,5 cm (12 x 10 1/2 in). Oil on panel was used by the European painter as the medium of the piece of art. This artpiece can be viewed in in the Art Institute Chicago's art collection, which is one of the world’s great art museums, housing a collection that spans centuries and the globe. Nicolaes Maes was a painter, whose artistic style was mainly Baroque. The painter was born in 1634 in Dordrecht, South Holland, Netherlands and deceased at the age of 59 in the year 1693.
