Jacques Amalric, son of the sister of the painter is shown to 6 or 7 bust of three quarters. The round face and astonished eyes, the child is wearing a lapel coat, an embroidered vest and a shirt whose open collar releases her neck.
In 1804, Big itself as the portraitist of the dignitaries of the Empire, the champion of the Napoleonic era, revealed at the show by the "Plague of Jaffa". This portrait painted in the family intimacy reveals another facet of the artist. Such a portrait also shows how the child now takes center stage in what is described as the "birth of the modern family."
