Like Camille Corot, with whom he often sketched in the mid-1820s, Aligny executed oil studies out-of-doors, primarily as private exercises that were not intended for exhibition. This work, inscribed to his friend the artist Théophile-Emmanuel Duverger (1821–1898), is evidently an independent study. It is similar to other landscapes painted during the artist's sojourn in Italy in the mid-1830s.

Choose your material
In the product dropdown menu you can choose the material and size of your choice. In order match your personal requirements perfectly, you can choose among the following product customization options:
- Print on acrylic glass (with real glass coating on top): A glossy acrylic glass print, which is often described as a UV print on plexiglass, changes your favorite original work of art into stunning décor. Beyond that, it makes a great alternative to canvas and aluminidum dibond prints. Your own version of the artwork is custom-made thanks to the help of state-of-the-art UV printing machines. The special effect of this are intense and stunning colors. The great advantage of a plexiglass fine art print is that contrasts plus small details become more identifiable thanks to the very fine tonal gradation. The acrylic glass protects your custom art replica against light and external influences for many more years.
- Canvas: A canvas print is a printed cotton canvas stretched on a wooden frame. The advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is quite simple to hang up your Canvas print without extra wall-mounts. Because of thata canvas print is suitable for all types of walls in your house.
- Printed poster (canvas material): The poster is a printed canvas with a fine surface texture. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin of something between 2-6cm round about the print in order to facilitate the framing.
- Aluminium dibond print (metal): These are metal prints on alu dibond with an impressive effect of depth. The bright sections of the original work of art shine with a silky gloss, however without glare. The colors of the print are luminous, the details are very clear, and there’s a matte look that you can literally feel.
