This is Turner's etched first stage of work on a print he intended to include in the series "Liber Studiorum" (Latin for Book of Studies), but never published. The composition derives from a premium-winning painting shown at the British Institution in 1814, now at the National Gallery, London. In the foreground, Apuleia, a figure Turner invented as the wife for a shepherd mentioned in Ovid's "Metamorphoses," unveils herself to a group of shepherdesses. The landscape is enlivened by a multi-arched classical bridge that spans a river near a temple, and the composition embodies Arcadian qualities associated with Claude. The finished plate was sold in 1873 with other unpublished Liber compositions, and subsequently printed and circulated.

We offer a range of various sizes and materials for every product. Thus, we allow you to choose among the following options:

  • The canvas print: A printed canvas, not to be mistaken with an artwork painted on a canvas, is a digital image printed from a UV direct printer. Further, a canvas makes a homelike and pleasant appearance. How can I hang a canvas print on my wall? The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight. This means, it is quite simple to hang up your Canvas print without the help of extra wall-mounts. A canvas print is suitable for all kinds of walls.
  • Printed poster on canvas material: The Artprinta poster print is a UV printed canvas with a granular surface finish. Please note, that depending on the size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin between 2-6 cm round about the artwork, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
  • Metal print (aluminium dibond): These are metal prints on aluminium dibond material with an outstanding depth. The non-reflective surface make a fashionable look. For your Direct Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the artpiece onto the surface of the aluminum material. The bright parts of the work of art shine with a silky gloss but without any glow.
  • Acrylic glass print: A glossy acrylic glass print, which is sometimes described as a an art print on plexiglass, will change your favorite original work of art into gorgeous home decoration and makes a distinct alternative option to canvas or dibond fine art prints. The artwork will be made with state-of-the-art UV direct print machines. This has the effect of impressive and rich colors. The great benefit of a plexiglass print is that contrasts and color details become visible thanks to the granular tonal gradation of the print.
