Supplemental description from the museum (© - by The Cleveland Museum of Art - The Cleveland Museum of Art)
During the later part of the 1700s, fruit still lifes were extremely popular, and a basket of plums was a common motif. In Vallayer's painting the details, especially the plums and the basket, emerge from deep shadows. The colors are vivid reds and violets and a sense of immediacy is invoked by the growing moss, the cakes in their crisp papers, and the glass of water with its sparkling highlights and reflections.

Product materials our customers can pick from
We offer a range of various materials and sizes for every product. Pick your favorite size and material among the following options:
- The canvas print: The printed canvas material mounted on a wood frame. The printed canvas generates a cosy and comfortable effect. Hanging a canvas print: The advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight. This means, it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without any wall-mounts. Hence, canvas prints are suitable for all types of walls.
- The acrylic glass print (with real glass coating on top): The print on acrylic glass, often described as a UV print on plexiglass, makes the original artwork into wonderful décor. Your artwork is being made with the help of state-of-the-art UV print technology. The major benefit of a plexiglass art print is that sharp contrasts and also minor painting details will be visible thanks to the granular gradation of the print. The acrylic glass protects your chosen art print against light and external influences for many years to come.
- The poster print (canvas material): Our poster print is a printed cotton canvas with a slight surface structure. Please note, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin between 2-6cm around the print motif, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
- Aluminium dibond (metal print): Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with an outstanding depth effect - for a modern impression and a non-reflective surface structure. This UV print on Aluminum Dibond is one of the most demanded entry-level products and is a truly sophisticated way to showcase artworks, since it puts all of the viewer’s attention on the whole artwork.
