Additional description from The Metropolitan Museum of Art (© - by The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)
The sitter, who wears the black-and-yellow striped dress of high-ranking members of the electoral court of Saxony, may be identified by the initials LS on the signet ring as Lukas Spielhausen, who was by 1531 a lawyer in the state judicial curia under Johann I, the Constant. His age of approximately thirty-nine in 1532, the date of the painting, is compatible with the sitter’s appearance. The lively pattern of colors and interplay of curves in the costume and the contrast between the man’s tightly bundled hair and his expansively projecting mustache and beard give this portrait a striking visual impact.

Select your material
We offer a range of different materials and sizes for every product. Pick your preferred size and material between the choices:
- Aluminium dibond print: These are metal prints on aluminium dibond with a true depth effect. The non-reflective surface make a modern look. The Aluminium Dibond Print is your excellent introduction to fine art reproductions on aluminum. The white and bright parts of the artwork shine with a silky gloss but without any glow. The colors of the print are vivid and luminous in the highest definition, the details appear crisp, and there’s a matte appearance that you can literally feel.
- Poster print (canvas material): The Artprinta poster is a printed sheet of cotton canvas with a slightly roughened structure on the surface. Please note, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin 2-6cm round about the work of art in order to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
- Canvas: The printed canvas, which shall not be confused with a painting on a canvas, is an image printed on an industrial printing machine. A canvas of your favorite masterpiece will provide you with the chance of turning your very own fine art print into a large work of art as you would see in a gallery. How do I hang a canvas on my wall? The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is easy to hang up the Canvas print without any wall-mounts. A canvas print is suitable for any type of wall.
- Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating on top): An acrylic glass print, which is often referenced as a print on plexiglass, will convert your favorite artwork into amazing décor. The artwork is being printed with the help of modern UV printing machines. This creates stunning, intense print colors. With an acrylic glass fine art print contrasts plus granular artwork details become exposed due to the granular tonal gradation. Our plexiglass with real glass coating protects your selected art print against light and heat for up to 6 decades.
