Two European men in Middle Eastern dress pose in front of a parapet. The bearded man on the left gestures to the right, while the other man looks in the same direction and holds a cryptic message in Italian: Sig:r mio videte la strade di sa lute per la mano di sweerts (My Lord, see the way to salvation by the hand of Sweerts). The note's meaning and the identity of the two gentlemen have eluded scholars. The two men appear to be individualized portraits, recalling the tradition of friendship portraits so popular in Northern Europe. The refined execution of this painting is typical of Flemish artist Michael Sweert's late style, practiced when he traveled in India as a missionary. "My Lord," then, may be addressed to the viewer, encouraging him to listen to Sweerts's preaching. With this double portrait, the artist may be urging the observer to find redemption through his belief in God, just as Sweerts did.

Select the item material of your choice
For every fine art print we offer different sizes and materials. We allow yout to choose among the following variants:
- Printed poster on canvas material: The poster is a printed sheet of flat cotton canvas paper with a nice surface texture. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of approximately 2-6 cm around the painting to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
- Printed acrylic glass (with real glass coating): A glossy acrylic glass print, which is often described as a UV print on plexiglass, transforms an artwork into beautiful décor and is a great alternative option to dibond or canvas fine art replicas. The work of art is being custom-made with the help of state-of-the-art UV direct print technology. The real glass coating protects your chosen art print against sunlight and external influences for many years to come.
- Aluminium dibond (metal print): An Aluminium Dibond print is a print material with an outstanding depth. For your Direct Aluminium Dibond option, we print the artpiece onto the surface of the white-primed aluminum. The bright parts of the artwork shine with a silk gloss but without the glow.
- Canvas: A printed canvas material stretched on a wood stretcher frame. Additionally, a canvas print makes a soft and warm look. The advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight. That means, it is quite simple to hang up your Canvas print without the help of any wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suited for any type of wall.
