The famous cabaret "Black Cat", installed in 1885 at 12, rue Laval (now rue Victor Massé), offered from 1886 performances of shadow theater, animated primarily by the painter Henri Rivière. For ten years a quarantine rooms were presented, including "The Epic" pantomime extravaganza, written and drawn by Caran d'Ache. Founded in 1886, she traced the Napoleonic Wars and celebrating the heroism of the Grand Army; It was highly successful and was one of the most represented parts of the directory "Black Cat".
