The act lying female is indisputably one of the masterpieces Corinth. He seems to have merged here all his knowledge of art history and his technical ability together to form something new. He used to act as a kind of allegory of the painting itself. The figure alone gives the picture its depth and fills it in her room creative presence to the edges, it blows almost. It is the almost shameless to be named presence of the female figure that characterizes the image, a dösendes presence, but a life full corporeality, which is portrayed with unsurpassable intensity. Creditline of the artwork: purchase from Gallery Welz, Salzburg in 1941. The painter, sculptor, university teacher, graphic artist, drawer, lithographer Lovis Corinth was an artist from Germany, whose artistic style was primarily Modern Art. The Modern artist was born in the year 1858 in Gvardeysk, Kaliningradskaya Oblast�, Russia and passed away at the age of 67 in 1925.
