Canvas was applied by the artist as the medium of the masterpiece. The original artwork is inscribed with the details: "bottom right: C. v. Hdk. pt. 5/1840". Today, the work of art is included in the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus und Kunstbau München's digital collection.
