If the identification is correct, this miniature is prior to the birth of the first daughter of the imperial couple, Maria Josefa, at the end of 1699. The future empress would be 26 years old.
This miniature, probably of the German school (or Austrian), dates from the late seventeenth century. She wears, bottom left, signed by an unknown artist that reads "Herer".
