Taking the Pantheon June 24, 1848. Background: After closing of the national workshops that provided work for the unemployed, workers revolted June 23, 1848 against the young Republic. The most violent fighting took place the day especially around the Pantheon, but by the evening the government ammorçait the takeover of the city.
