Possible material options
In the dropdown lists right next to the product you can pick the material and size of your choice. The following options are available for individualization:
- The poster print (canvas material): Our poster is a printed sheet of canvas paper with a fine finish on the surface. Please note, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of something between 2-6cm around the artwork in order to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.
- Aluminium dibond: These are metal prints on aluminium dibond with an outstanding effect of depth. For your Direct Aluminium Dibond option, we print the favorite work of art onto the surface of the white-primed aluminum composite. The bright parts of the original artpiece shimmer with a silky gloss but without glow. The colors are luminous and vivid, the fine details of the print are crisp and clear, and there’s a matte look you can literally feel. The UV print on aluminium is the most popular entry-level product and is a truly modern way to display art reproductions, as it draws focus on the artwork.
- Printed acrylic glass (with real glass coating): A glossy print on acrylic glass, often denoted as a plexiglass print, will change an artwork into lovely décor and makes a distinct alternative to dibond or canvas art prints. The artwork will be made with state-of-the-art UV direct printing machines. With an acrylic glass art print contrasts as well as smaller artwork details become exposed thanks to the delicate tonal gradation. Our real glass coating protects your custom fine art print against light and heat for decades.
- Canvas: A printed canvas, not to be confused with a canvas painting, is an image printed from an industrial printer. Besides, printed canvas produces a attractive, appealing feeling. Your canvas of your favorite artwork will let you turn your own fine art print into a large collection piece. A canvas print has the great advantage of being low in weight, which implies that it is easy and straightforward to hang up your Canvas print without the use of any wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suited for all kinds of walls.
Important information: We try our utmost to describe our products as exact as we can and to illustrate them visually on the respective product detail pages. Nevertheless, the pigments of the print materials, as well as the print result may differ somehwat from the presentation on the monitor. Depending on the screen settings and the condition of the surface, color pigments may not be printed as exactly as the digital version. Because all the art reproductions are processed and printed manually, there might also be minor discrepancies in the size and exact position of the motif.
Additional description from the museum's website (© - by The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)
This self-portrait, which La Farge painted in October 1859 at his family's estate in Glen Cove, Long Island, reflects his use of a photograph as a pictorial source; his appreciation of the unmodulated shapes and flattened space of Japanese prints; his reliance on broad tonal masses in the manner of his teachers, Thomas Couture and William Morris Hunt; and his experiments in plein-air landscape painting. The artist portrays himself as a landscapist ready to embark on a painting expedition.
