Sandys’s meticulously rendered portrait of Susanna Rose (1795-1870) revels in its truth to detail. The coat of arms and the luxurious display of fabrics, fur, and lace recall Dutch, Flemish, and German art from the 1400s to the 1600s (such as the adjacent Janssen van Ceulen portrait), which greatly inspired Sandys. The artist’s intense color and sensuous handling, however, was entirely contemporary. Sandys exhibited this portrait at the Royal Academy in 1863.

Art print materials which we offer:
For every art print we offer a range of different materials & sizes. We allow you to pick your favorite size and material among the following product individualization options:
- Printed poster on canvas material: The poster print is a printed flat canvas with a slightly rough finish on the surface. It is excellently appropriate for putting your art replica with a customized frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of around 2-6cm round about the print motif, which facilitates the framing.
- Canvas: The canvas print is a printed cotton canvas mounted on a wood stretcher. A canvas print has the advantage of being low in weight, which means that it is easy to hang the Canvas print without the help of additional wall-mounts. Therefore, a canvas print is suitable for any kind of wall.
- Print on glossy acrylic glass (with real glass coating on top): The print on acrylic glass, which is sometimes referenced as a plexiglass print, will turn the original artwork into stunning home decoration. Beyond that, it offers a great alternative option to canvas or dibond fine art replicas. Your favorite artwork will be made with modern UV printing technology. The real glass coating protects your selected art replica against sunlight and heat for between four and six decades.
- Aluminium dibond print: This is a metal print made on aluminium dibond with a true depth. Its non-reflective surface creates a fashionable impression. Colors are vivid and luminous in the highest definition, details are clear and crisp, and there’s a matte look you can literally feel.
