Today, the piece of art is part of the Belvedere's digital collection. The modern art public domain piece of art is being supplied with courtesy of © Belvedere, Vienna, inventory number: 1871b. Moreover, the artwork has the following creditline: purchase from Berta Pokorny in 1917. The alignment of the digital reproduction is in portrait format and has an image ratio of 1 : 1.2, which means that the length is 20% shorter than the width. Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller was a male painter from Austria, whose artistic style was mainly Realism. The European painter lived for 72 years - born in the year 1793 in Vienna and deceased in 1865.

It was Waldmüller's basic intention to reproduce the model so lifelike as possible, in order to meet the appearance in every detail. According to legend Waldmüller received about 1817 by Captain Joseph C. of Stierle-Holzmeister the order, "as it is" to represent his mother in the picture (this portrait is in the Old National Gallery in Berlin). The experience that resulted from this desire to stir Waldmüller to to to deal with the precise depiction of the human face. Numerous portraits are able to meet this request, usually, these are the representation of men and old women. The portrait of Rosina Wieser is one of the earliest works, carried out the Waldmüller in realistic style. [Sabine Grabner 8/2009]
