As a restorer at the Louvre, Michel became familiar with Dutch seventeenth-century landscapes by Van Ruisdael, Van Goyen, and Rembrandt. Though Michel’s works are rarely dated, making it difficult to understand the development of his own landscape style, works like this one provided a link to the northern tradition well before those by the Englishman John Constable caused a sensation in Paris in 1824.This imaginary view was painted on paper mounted on canvas, an inexpensive means of starting with a smooth surface in emulation of more expensive wood panel, the favored support of Dutch Old Masters.

Available materials

We offer a range of various sizes and materials for every product. In order match your personal requirements perfectly, you can choose among the following product customization options:

  • Metal print (aluminium dibond): Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with an impressive depth effect. The Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is the best start to art prints with aluminum. The bright and white parts of the original artwork shine with a silky gloss but without glare.
  • The poster print on canvas material: A poster print is a printed sheet of canvas with a nice texture on the surface. A poster print is best used for placing your art print in a customized frame. Please note, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin of approximately 2 - 6cm round about the print, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
  • Print on acrylic glass: An print on acrylic glass, which is sometimes described as a plexiglass print, will turn your favorite artwork into beautiful décor. Besides, it forms a good alternative to dibond and canvas prints. Your favorite work of art is being made thanks to modern UV direct print machines. This creates intense and impressive color tones.
  • Canvas: The printed canvas material mounted on a wooden frame. A canvas creates the plastic look of three-dimensionality. In addition to that, a printed canvas makes a lovely, pleasing effect. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which means that it is easy and straightforward to hang the Canvas print without the help of any wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suitable for all types of walls.
