English: Everything is thinly painted, except the blossoms in the tree, which are more impasto and wild. In this way, Carl Fredrik Hill has achieved a vibrant effect that closely resembles the impression of real apple trees in bloom. Hill persistently painted many different versions of this subject. He described his work as an attempt to attain the truest way of portraying nature. Sadly, he did not experience any major success during his lifetime, and did not become famous until well into the 20th century.
