This delicate pastel landscape with elegant figures illustrates what Pater avowed: that he owed everything to Watteau. The ladies' dresses are more or less contemporary while the short jacket, ruff, and shoe ribbons of the man with the walking stick are reminiscent of costumes for the theater. The marble putti with a dolphin must form part of a fountain hidden in shrubbery. They underline the playful nature of the subject. The painting is one of a pair. The pendant, signed and dated 1734, is in the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid.

Choose your product material
For every product we offer different sizes and materials. Pick your preferred size and material among the options:
- The acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): An acrylic glass print, which is often referred to as a print on plexiglass, changes the original into magnificient décor and offers a good alternative to dibond or canvas art prints. The major benefit of a plexiglass art print is that sharp contrasts and minor color details become visible due to the subtle gradation.
- Canvas print: The printed canvas material applied on a wooden stretcher frame. A canvas of your favorite artpiece will let you turn your very own into a large size collection piece as you know from galleries. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight. That means, it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without additional wall-mounts. A canvas print is suited for all kinds of walls.
- The poster print (canvas material): The poster is a printed flat cotton canvas paper with a slight finish on the surface, that reminds the original artwork. Please note, that depending on the size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin between 2-6 cm round about the print in order to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.
- Aluminium dibond (metal print): Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with an outstanding effect of depth. The non-reflective surface structure creates a modern impression. A direct Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is the excellent introduction to replicas on aluminum. The white & bright components of the artpiece shine with a silky gloss but without any glare. Colors are vivid and luminous in the highest definition, details of the print appear clear and crisp, and there’s a matte look that you can literally feel.
