Supplemental information from The Metropolitan Museum of Art website (© - The Metropolitan Museum of Art - www.metmuseum.org)
This beguiling sitter is depicted as if in a transitory moment, seemingly about to rise from the sofa, a slight smile on her lips. Degas rarely painted a face that reflects such good humor and calm. The woman is unidentified, but may well have been someone the artist knew intimately. He executed few commissioned portraits, preferring instead to depict family and friends, and seldom sold the portraits that he did paint. This work was in Degas’s studio at the time of his death and was included in his 1918 estate sale, as indicated by the stamped signature in the lower right corner.

Additionally, it forms a great alternative to dibond and canvas fine art prints. Your artwork is being made with the help of state-of-the-art UV print technology. With an acrylic glass art print contrasts and also details will be visible thanks to the fine tonal gradation. Our real glass coating protects your selected art print against sunlight and heat for many decades.
- Printed poster on canvas material: The Artprinta poster print is a UV printed canvas with a nice structure on the surface. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin of something between 2-6cm round about the painting in order to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
- Canvas: A canvas print, which shall not be confused with an artwork painted on a canvas, is an image printed from a UV direct printing machine. A canvas creates a plastic effect of three-dimensionality. What is more, printed canvas produces a charming and positive ambience. Your canvas of your favorite masterpiece will allow you to transform your fine art print into a large artpiece. The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, which means that it is quite simple to hang your Canvas print without the help of extra wall-mounts. Hence, canvas prints are suited for any type of wall.
