Under a semicircular window decorated with a large cross, eleven girls spread over two rows, wearing the same uniform, are kneeling facing the viewer, hands clasped in prayer. Two large candles next to a bouquet of daisies, hold the ends of the table.

Revealed to the public in 1913, "The Orphan" were to form with two other paintings, "The Dead" (1900) and "La Chapelle" (1908-1911) set the painter called "La Chapelle".

The over 110 years old artwork was painted by the master Fernand Pelez. The original was painted with the size: Height: 268 cm, Width: 280 cm. Oil, Canvas (material) was applied by the artist as the medium of the artpiece.
